    This adventurous eater treated her palate to 5 different kinds of kitty chow to see just what our cats are scarfing down. So, for those who've ever wondered, now you have an answer. No cat food breath required.

    1. Purina Cat Chow: Naturals Plus Vitamins & Minerals

    Megan Boyle, the writer of the Vice piece, was impressed by how vaguely enjoyable this dry food was. She admits to eating a few voluntary handfuls, describing the taste as similair to "Chicken in a Biscuit" crackers with a tangy aftertaste. The food also earned points for having an enjoyable texture.

    2. Natural Value Pâté Style Tuna & Chicken Dinner

    Boyle described this one as having a soft and nutty texture, with a fishier smell than you would expect. Taste-wise, this meal had the flavor of diluted salmon with a handful of hidden aftertastes. Overall, this seemed to be the hardest one to swallow.

    3. PetGuard Savory Seafood Dinner

    Expecting the worst from this fishy dish, Boyle admitted to being surprised by how not horrible this food was. The flavor of this soft and smooth food is summarized as "shrimp mousse laced with pennies." Yum?

    4. Fancy Feast: Turkey Feast, Chunky

    This canned meal supposedly tastes just like you think it would, based on the smell. Boyle described the flavor as salty, grainy, metallic and unlike any kind of meat she has ever tasted. Unfortunately, she also came across some sort of woody nub during the chewing process.

    5. Wellness Cubed Chicken Entrée in Morsels of Rich Gravy

    Wellness proved to be a step up from Fancy Feast, with an easier-to-chew texture. Boyle said the food had a distinguishable liver taste, while also being generally bland and brothy.
