Stock up on snacks, ready the remote and place your bets! The Super Bowl is upon us. Whether you are watching for the game, commercials, half-time show or just opting for the Puppy Bowl, chances are you will be at some kind of viewing soiree on Sunday.
People know what to expect from the big day, but Super Bowl parties can be overwhelming for pets. According to Boston.com it is important to keep a few things in consideration when animals will also be in attendance during your bash. Find out how to make the big game safe and fun for human and furry friends alike.

1. Place Food At Safe Distances
Many coffee tables are at pet level, which can lead to animals accidentally indulging in harmful foods. Place food out of your pet's reach, even if it is less convenient for guests. Be sure to remind your guests to watch their plates, as well.
-
2. Try To Keep It Tidy
Dogs can be attracted to beer cups left unattended. Unless the brew is made for canines, beer is not safe for your dog. Try to throw out things as you go to keep unwanted beer cups away from pets.
-
3. Keep Your Guests' Belongings Tucked Away
The last thing you want is your animal accidentally making a mess of your guests' coats or shoes. Sensing news smells, animals may be eager to explore, so keep these "foreign" belongings in a closet or room your pets can't reach to prevent any damage.
-
4. Opt Out Of Foam Fingers & Lots Of Decorations
While it might be tempting to go all out, it is best for your pets if you keep decorations to a minimum. Foam fingers, streamers and other add-ons can easily be destroyed and ingested by pets. This not only causes a big mess, but it can also lead to vomiting and obstructions for your pet.
-
5. Create A Quiet Space
Strangers and noise can be an overwhelming combo for some animals. By creating a comfortable spot away from the action, your pet can stay calm and feel safe. This allows your cat or dog the opportunity to join the party when they are ready.
-
6. Wings & Pets Don't Mix
While wings may be a game day staple, they are horrible for pets. The tasty treat is fatty, spicy and full of bones, all of which prove hazardous to pets. If you aren't willing to give up the wings, make sure your pet stays in another room while the food is out for guests.

7. Crusts Are Okay
Pizza is not as much of a danger to pets. Vets say it is safe to feed dogs pizza crusts as a treat for good behavior. Letting pets get a whole slice should be avoided, especially if you are eating pizza with onions.
-
8. Pigs In a Blanket As A Prize
If you want to reward your dog for being a great party guest, giving him one or two pigs in a blanket is okay, but after this the treats should stop.
-
9. Dip Is Not For Dogs
Chips and dip is a salty combo which is bad for pets to ingest. Keep the high-sodium goods away from your furry friends. If you are looking to treat your dogs in some way, offer them a carrot from the veggie try instead.

Once again salt is not good for pets. Avoid possibly harming them by skipping over these snacks at your shindig.
