BETTY WHITE GETS A B-DAY BOA 

Betty White recently turned 91. How did she celebrate? With a big, scaly boa! The Lifeline Program adopted a red-tailed boa named Jacob from the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens in her name. Jacob and White go way back. The actress met the snake back in 2011 on the set of her music video, "I'm Still Hot." According to White, Jacob is a great cuddler and helps keep her neck warm. THE SHEEP ARE SAFE WITH PAUL 

If we were sheep, we'd want to live on Paul McCartney's farm. The former Beatle and passionate animal activist told Radio 4's Food Program that his sheep die of old age because he cannot bear to send them to the slaughter. "I live on a sheep farm, but they die of old age. But it can be embarrassing. People say, 'Look at the state of your sheep!' And I say, 'Yes, they're very old. There's only one alternative -- to send them off to the knacker's yard." 

CATWOMAN GOES TO THE VET

Halle Berry was recently seen taking her cat to the vet. We're glad to know that even though Berry is a big superstar, she still makes time in her busy schedule for her furry loved ones. We hope it was a regular examination and nothing serious! (Teddy Hilton)

BONO IS A SPIDERMAN 

According to The Press Enterprise, almost three dozen new species of the trapdoor spider have been identified, three of them from Joshua Tree National Park. The best part about identifying a new species is getting to name them. When Jason Bond, director of the Auburn University Museum of Natural History, had the chance to name the A. bonoi, he decided to have some fun with it. Bond named the spider after U2's lead singer, Bono, to honor the group's 1987 album "The Joshua Tree." 

THE TATUMS GO FOR A WALK

Jenna Dewan-Tatum may be pregnant, but that's not stopping her from getting her fitness on with the rest of her family, dogs included. Dewan was spotted on a hike with husband Channing Tatum and pets Meeka and Lulu. Looks like Lulu the Pit-Catahoula mix is being a little protective over her mom. Paparazzi, beware! KEVIN BACON DNA TESTS HIS DOG

When Kevin Bacon and wife Kyra Sedgwick adopted their rescue dogs, they had no idea what breeds they were. Curious, Bacon purchased a doggy DNA lab kit. "We did DNA testing, which is fun and something that just became possible. What you do is swab the cheek of a mutt and you send it in. What comes back is what breeds are in the animal, which is really cool," he told People. As a result, he found out that Lilly is a Labrador, American Bulldog and Boston Terrier mix. His other dog, Rocky, turned out to be a purebred Staffordshire Terrier. 

MIRANDA LAMBERT HELPS HOMELESS PETS

It's no surprise that country singer Miranda Lambert is a huge animal lover. She tries to help out her furry friends whenever she can. Lambert recently stopped by the Pedrigree Feeding Project launch in Glendale, Calif. to support the new initiative. The Feeding Project was started in order to provide food to shelters at no cost. Said Lamber, "I'm amazed every day by the unconditional love I receive from all of my adopted dogs. That's why it means so much to me to partner with Pedigree, a brand that truly believes in finding dogs loving homes as much as I do." (Celebrity Gossip)

SIMON COWELL PRODUCES DOG MOVIE 

Last year, Pudsey the dancing dog wagged away as the winner of "Britain's Got Talent." Now, he is set to star in a Simon Cowell-produced film. Syco Entertainment, Cowell's joint venture with Sony, is teaming up with Vertigo Films to co-produce the fictional film about the talented pup. It is scheduled to shoot in spring, and will be released at the end of the year. What a lucky pup! (Hollywood Reporter)
