An elephant calf at the Tampa Lowry Park Zoo in Florida has been given a name! Mpumi was named by a family of wildlife conservationists in Swaziland, Africa. The unique name means "success or achievement" in Swati.

THE NEWEST ADDITION

Ussuri, a 2-year-old male Amur tiger, has joined tigers Zeya and Shilka at the Dublin Zoo in Ireland. Congratulations on your new home, Ussuri!

TALKIN' ABOUT TANNER

Tanner the sea lion was recently welcomed to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Ill. This 5-year-old tips the scales at a grand 500 pounds.

HATCHED AND HAPPY

Two cassowary chicks that hatched on New Year's Eve are now able to be seen at the Perth Zoo in Australia. They're the first of their kind to be born at the zoo in almost 60 years.

An adorable Asian small-clawed otter has just arrived at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, Wash., and is doing very well. Keepers say he's got a spunky personality and absolutely loves attention. Too cute!

Unusual-looking red parrot fish swim in a tank at the Beijing Aquarium. The aquarium is the largest in China, and houses more than 1,000 marine species and freshwater fish.

A small Asian elephant calf was born last night at the Chester Zoo in the U.K. to loving mother Sithami. Aww!

WHERE ART THOU, COLORS?

Two rainbow lorikeet chicks were just born at the Indianapolis Zoo! They look pretty plain in this picture, but they'll soon sport an array of gorgeous rainbow-colored plumage. 

BASHFUL BUFFALO

In Budapest's Botanic Garden and Zoo, a one-month-old buffalo is pictured standing behind its mother. The youngster was born on Dec. 17, 2012. 

BOSTON THROUGH THE SNOW

An adorable Boston Terrier named Freddy plays in the snow after a weekend of heavy snowfall in Nottingham, United Kingdom. 

CAT AND THE HAT

In Park City, Utah, actress and cat lover AnnaLynne McCord hosts the Catdance Film Festival to benefit the ASPCA. McCord is pictured holding a cute feline and wearing a cat-inspired hat to show support to the cause. 

OH, OKAPI!

At the Tampa Lowry Park Zoo in Florida, a rare okapi calf was born on January 6, 2013. This is the third significant birth in the African habitat area.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD

A baby komodo dragon baby emerges from its shell at the Memphis Zoo in Tennessee. Before fully hatching, the babies "pip" through the shell to start breathing air. Sixteen komodo dragons eggs have started to hatch at the zoo, making them the zoo's first babies born in 2013. Woohoo!

MOTHERLY LOVE

Cheetah mother Nakula and her precious cubs are now on display at the Monarto Zoo in Australia. Two males and three females were born to the wonderful mom, and are all doing great. 

BEAUTIFUL ORANGUTAN BABY

A sweet little orangutan baby was born to mother Blaze at the Atlanta Zoo in Georgia. You can look at updates on how the youngster and mother are doing. 

A ROYAL STEED

In Hanover, Germany, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie feed a docile horse named Ben with an unfortunate heart condition at the Equine Clinic at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover. We're sending Ben good wishes!

SPECTACLED SNOW BEAR

At the Chester Zoo in the United Kingdom, a spectacled bear named Franka checks out a 'snow bear' made by the zookeepers for enrichment. 

RUN RHINO RUN

Rhino baby Shomili runs around outside during a hot day at the San Diego Zoo in California. Mili is now an astonishing 245 lbs. Amazing!
