According to the Daily Mail U.K., two lemurs were spotted running amok and causing a ruckus around a neighborhood in North Miami Beach, Florida, on Monday.

Residents reported that the ring-tailed primates were attacking them, even scratching a toddler in the face. Officials from North Miami Beach arrived at N. 173rd St. and found one of the two lemurs in a tree.

Their owner, Julio Hincipa, claims that someone tried to steal his pets after seeing that the locks to their cages had been cut. Hincipa owns the animals legally and was able to provide permits for them.

.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission also investigated the scene, but their owner insists that they were just afraid. "They were scared, that's it. They were running around, everyone was chasing them," said Hincipa to NBC Miami.

That's horrible when you are a responsible pet owner and someone messes with your pets. I had a neighbor that was upset because he was being sued because his dog bit a kid. She just had puppies and she was nursing them when these brats came on his property and started throwing stones at her. She did what any normal mother would do, she bit the brat. I told him I didn't blame her one bit, if someone was throwing stones at me while I was nursing my baby I might bite too. He was totally surprised about that bit of information. The brats left that part of the story out. They say kids don't lie, they do, they really do. She was a great dog too, gentle as rain. She was only protecting her puppies, she wouldn't have bit otherwise.
