Britney Spears' Dog Fighting for Life

Britney Spears is having a rough start to the new year. According to Radar Online, her teacup Yorkie, Hannah, is not doing so well.

Spears welcomed Hannah into her life last November and quickly became obsessed with her. She even created a Twitter account for her pup.

Spears bought her tiny Yorkie from Barkworks in Thousand Oaks, Calif. The pet store has received a lot of negative criticism in the last few years for getting their dogs from puppy mills. The Animal Legal Defense Fund has a class action suit against the company. Barkworks has an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau due to the number of sick animals found at their stores.

Since getting Hannah, Spears has taken her to the vet three times, but not for regular checkups. Apparently, Spears became concerned when Hannah was listless, had a loss of appetite and had trouble breathing.

A source close to Spears says that Hannah's condition remains unstable.

We have three Yorkies, our third set. Our hope is your pup gets well. I am not in the business but we know a great breader we have gone to here in Minnesota. People have flown in from Alaska to see her operation. The Bible states at 2nd Samuel 12: 3 about a poor man who had nothing but a small female lamb which he cared for. It drank from his cup and eait from his morsel, in his bosom it would sleep. He affectionatly called it his daughter. God loves the little ones as your heart has shown. Call me if you like. Would like to help.

I believe the animal is still alive although not doing so stable. But this is exactly why we shoudln't buy from puppy mills. IF we could observe the happenings at puppy mills we would never buy again from them. Good luck to the pup.

people need to stop buying from stores.most of them are from puppy mills. imagine what the mother to those babies lives are. probably living in a small cage. if you are getting from a professional breeder, you can go to their home and see the mom dog.

PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE, don't buy a puppy from a pet store. MOST of them are obtained from puppy mills. Go to your local pound or a rescue organization. Believe me, these animals KNOW they've been given a second chance and will show boundless love for it! Additionally, reputable rescue organizations have already checked the animal out with a Vet and it is usually microchipped and tested (and treated if necessary) for heartworm.

Yo, Britney, this is what happens when you buy animals from pet stores that support puppy mills. I thought you were smarter than this and certainly more inclined to get a rescue animal. Shame on you!!!!!!!
