Habitat: Historically, this bird was found in the forests of Cuba and the United States.
Why They Are Endangered: Hunting, logging and clearance for agriculture have all impacted the species' decline. (Bird Life)
we saw a male and female. Freaked me the heck out. I have heard of them being around..they have a vast territory. Hoping to see them again, with a camera in hand to prove what my teen and I wittnessed.
Haven't we learned anything from the extinction of the DODO in this area? These birds even resemble them. When will we learn, if ever?
