Beavers do give a "dam." According to the Daily Mail U.K., during a trip to the Oregon Zoo, a toddler found out just how cordial the critters can be.
Ryan stopped by the beaver exhibit and quickly made a buck-toothed buddy. The little boy started waving at one of the animals and the beaver happily reciprocated.
Luckily, Ryan's parents caught the exchange on camera. The video shows the pair trading waves for close to 30 seconds.
"Being from Canada, we felt it was fitting we'd wave to one of our national icons," the video owner told the Daily Mail U.K. Obviously, the beaver knows a native when he sees one.
