Good intentions took a wild turn when a concerned driver met a surprising animal. According to WMTW, a Maine woman accidentally hit a bobcat while driving, but mistook the animal for a domestic cat and tried to take the creature to the vet.

After the accident, she inspected the animal and thought it was a severely injured cat. Wanting to save the feline, the woman placed the stricken animal in her car to take it to the vet.

The wild cat regained consciousness while the woman was driving to the vet's office. It was at this point that the driver realized her passenger was not a normal kitty cat and pulled over. The woman exited the car, as did the bobcat, who followed her and then hid under the vehicle.

Police and game wardens were called to the scene to catch the poor critter. The bobcat was safely secured and taken to get medical attention. Sadly, the animal was euthanized due to the severity of its injuries.

DOES THIS CAT LOOK LIKE STEVE BUSCEMI?

Cats are 4 legged children in furry coats. I have 3 of them. They run the house.

Was it necessary to take this macabre photo? Was it not enough that this poor cat was run over and then euthanized? Was it not enough that he followed this woman, probably desperate for help and the help he received was to be killed and then held up and displayed. Shame on everyone who was involved in this display of utter disrespect.

We mix lions and tigers, we mix Lynx with standard cats, this bobcat looks identical to mixes being sold RIGHT NOW! How is this her fault for not realizing?

Don't always believe organizations when they say "the animal had to be euthanized". I saved a deer, that had wandered into a home. I called Key Deer Rehabilitation who arrived in personal vehicles dressed in Hawaiian shirts, no labels, nothing. They hog tied the key deer, put a sack over his head and left. I called later to check up on her and they said "we euthanized her this morning". I asked why, she had NO injuries. Their response was "its spine was broken!!!". Unless they broke her spine, it was all a lie. I asked if any other key deer came in, she was the only one to come in that month. SO, don't believe organizations when they say an animal HAD to be put down, it is a lie, or cover up for not having enough resources to care for the animal, non of the excuses should result in death! And a bobcat? I have never seen a wild bobcat, see the road signs everywhere, but I have never seen one. To know they GAVE UP on this poor animal is pathetic, the agency needs new management!

This agency needs to be investigated thoroughly. All life is precious! And hog tying an animal is just plain abuse. They should be hog-tied!!
They apparently had no intention of helping this animal from the start.
