Woman Discovers Cat She Rescued Is Really a Bobcat

Good intentions took a wild turn when a concerned driver met a surprising animal. According to WMTW, a Maine woman accidentally hit a bobcat while driving, but mistook the animal for a domestic cat and tried to take the creature to the vet.

After the accident, she inspected the animal and thought it was a severely injured cat. Wanting to save the feline, the woman placed the stricken animal in her car to take it to the vet.

The wild cat regained consciousness while the woman was driving to the vet's office. It was at this point that the driver realized her passenger was not a normal kitty cat and pulled over. The woman exited the car, as did the bobcat, who followed her and then hid under the vehicle.

Police and game wardens were called to the scene to catch the poor critter. The bobcat was safely secured and taken to get medical attention. Sadly, the animal was euthanized due to the severity of its injuries.

DOES THIS CAT LOOK LIKE STEVE BUSCEMI?

shshhshshyt.......I'd would be on my knees thanking the Lord, that cat didn't take one more chance for survival and thought I'm the one who gave it injury, and started fighting me for it's life. the only way to tell the difference in thosr cat's and a domestic cat is, the Bob cat is tall and slinder. It would be hard to tell the difference if the cat is still a cub, but then a cub wouldnt attack you.

This woman rules. Just think had she gotten it help, she'd have had a new pet Bobcat. May sound crazy, but people who care about animals they hit are the good guys. It's not the bobcat is the size of a Serbian tiger or some sh!t. I tried to take in a wild, homeless dog that ended up being a coyote one time. Big deal, yeah, he ate my other pets, got rid of the wife who was on my nerves, and attacked me 6 times in two days... but good times.

Awwwesome story. Obviously you didn't look through the additional photos provided, I can see how she can make that mistake. Cat looks similar to mancoon breed of cats. Can help but smile and then laugh at this story. It;s cute. Would've did the same thing. : )
