the daily dish More on PawNation: Exotic, Mystery, Weird
According to WDRB, an unknown creature has been on the prowl, attacking and sometimes even killing livestock in Shelby County, Kentucky.

WDRB 41 Louisville - News, Weather, Sports Community

Residents have no idea what the culprit is and believes that it only comes out at night. Deputy County Judge Executive Rusty Newton said, "It's not doing it to kill the animal to eat, these animals are just being mauled. That's where the mystery is at this point."

Neighbors are banding together in hopes of discovering the mystery predator. One couple believed they found tracks from the creature. Another man, Frank Edwards, said that he plans on setting up trail cameras. County officials are planning a meeting to warn neighbors of this unexpected and deadly visitor.

With paw marks like that, it has to be some species of canine, likely a coyote, feral dog, or hybrid of the two, as felines have retractable claws (except the cheetah, which isn't in the same genus as other big cats and its claws do not fully retract--but they don't live in Kentucky). Wolves have historically been found in Kentucky (both red and grey), but have been extirpated from the wild in Kentucky, as of 2011, according to an article on eHow.

Those prey animals would still eat their prey. The only animal that behaves like that is a human.

Not true, it's been documented that some lions did this before, although there isn't enough information in the video for us to know that the people being interviewed really know what they're talking about it, but the evidence suggests the animals are not killed for food.

The track they showed is a canine. A large "feral" dog would fit the bill, and the description of what it does to the animals it attacks fits with how a dog would attack livestock (or people).

They don't really know how to kill an animal, so they chase and chew on it.

A killer whale disables a seal so it can go slower to teach it's young to hunt.
This might be a training session of some kind.
Maybe it's just being territorial?
Someone should be their like the discovery channel also less chance of killing whatever it is.
