Breed: Fila Brasiliero
Why they made the list: Fila Brasilieros are extremely intelligent and athletic, but terribly aggressive and strong. They are banned in the U.K., Israel, Denmark, Norway, Malta and Cyprus.
Oh my god.. that "article" about czechoslovakian wolfdog is almost completely wrong...Yes they are quick and energetic, thats only thing correctThey are not fearless, they are cautious but almost zealous when it comes to protecting the pack (owner, its family and yes, even the children) their prey drive is same as DSG but NO WAY THEY ARE EXTREMELY UNPREDICTABLE!!! FFS this breed originates as Military SpecOps and Border guard corps workdog... unpredictability was the exact thing military eradicated. They are perfectly trainable. It takes them longer time tha DSG, because they are extremely intelligent and they just dont see any point in repeating the same excersise dozen times over and over. They actually make perfect household pets. They are happy with their pack and so with proper walks, they are perfectly fine with living in a flat. Actually they are only shepherd breed which can live in a flat without problems. And finally.. they are perfect dog to be with children. Of course, you cant leave them alone (but that counts for ALL dog breeds) but they consider them to be part of the pack... What better thing you can imagine to protect your children than wolfdog on his guard?
And to debra, you are obviously unaware of the difference between the attack of a pittbull and the attack of a labrador, look it up because that is the reason why you dont hear about a labrador attack on the news and the very reason why a dog on the list is classified as such. All the posts below i have read are by very ignorant, not very intelligent people. Just the type of person who should not be allowed to own a dangerous breed dog!
Judging by most of these posts its not surprising there are fatalities from dog attacks with so many ignorant dog owners. Fyi a lot of attacks are from dogs to family members who have known the dogs for a long time then suddenly one day the dog snaps. To all you people above who say you are perfectly fine with your kids rolling around with your pitt bulls, you sound as if you would be fine for your kids friends to come into your home and do the same. Your defensive attitudes make you just the sort of owners who shouldn't own big dangerous breeds. Responsible dog owners are always cautious of how their dog may behave with children or other dogs, irresponsible ones are not. The fact you assume your dog is a gentle misunderstood victim of misguided views makes you and your dominant breed dog a danger to everyone, a responsible dog owner would never assume such a thing.
I agree on the way the puppy is brought up.How they train it also. But if the parents of the puppyis aggressive them the puppy will be like that.It is ture in the genes of the dog.
I have three but I full huge dogs and my biggest one is an American bull and he climbs in bed with me under the covers he nozzles me when I'm hurt or upset he loves my children he lays in bed with me he is basically my best friend if anyone tried to take him the only dangerous thing they need to worry about is me a dog is like a child with a mum they learn from us and if we love them they will love us unconditionaly forever ...Thanks for listening to me we must stand for them no one else will
list like these are plain ignorant I have a Doberman Pincher and he is the most affectionate goofy dog I have ever had the pleasure to know. I have two pit bulls as well and they both having personalities of their own are wonderful dogs. I find it ridiculous that all these so called agressive breeds are put on list like these. the so called agressive breeds end up being the most loyal and loving dogs. I love dobermans and pit bulls!!!
I agree that dog bite data is very inaccurate and for that reason, so are these lists. It never makes the paper or the 6 o clock news when someone gets bit by a lab. A friend of mine was severely mauled by her friend's Labrador retriever, hospitalized, out of work for 6 months etc. never made the news or any newspapers. Can you imagine the hype if that had been a pit bull? I was bit by a dog as a child, by a cocker spaniel. My friends grandson got a bad bite to the face by the family dog, again not any of the breeds on these lists. My daughter was a dog groomer, bit multiple times by dogs, always the smaller ones. She fell in love with pit bulls after working with them beta sues they were so friendly and eager to please and never gave her any trouble. Dog bites are almost always caused by badly behaved humans, poorly trained dogs and misunderstandings between the two.
bloodhounds seriously? How is it even fair to ban a dog based on size alone? So only small dogs deserve love and a chance to live? Sounds anti-humanism to me. Ridiculous.
Only a genetically unstable dog is dangerous. It has nothing to do with with the breed, it's the individual dog.The breed as whole is NOT dangerous. Sure, there are dogs of that breed that are "dangerous", but in every breed, there IS a dangerous dog. Heck, the Pit Bull breed is one of the most over-bred dogs. SO many breeders don't give two sh'ts. They create a problem. They breed dogs that have poor temperaments, dogs that are unstable. Back in the day when the breed was becoming a breed, a human aggressive dog would be culled. The only times a dog will be1. Human Aggressive is if the dog is Unstable, or unsound. 2. The dog was raised in unstable environment. The dog was abused,or neglect. Sometimes if a dog has very little, or no human contact the dog will be fear aggressive 3. Socialization. 4. The dog is the wrong handsSome of these breeds are dog aggressive, genetically. Most(well all), are usually not dogs for the novice owner. There wonderful dogs don't get me wrong. But so many dogs end up in the wrong hands. The majority of pet owners can't properly own a DA dog. You can't take away DA, you can only control it. DA, is a trait, & lie any other trait, it is genetically wired.
Bloodhounds? Really. No. They are the sweetest dogs I've ever known! I call bs on most of this list.
