According to This Is Leicestershire, NatWest bank is after a dog who owes a debt. The branch is looking for Noodles, the dog who overdrew his account and owes £6.84.

Dog Receives Overdraft Notice

The staff at NatWest wrote the canine culprit a letter and sent it to his residence in Woodhouse Eaves at the beginning of the month. Unfortunately, the tenants moved out, leaving the home's new resident, Rupert Chapman, with the bill.

Chapman opened the letter with much confusion. Wanting to learn more information about Noodles the dog, Chapman sent his own letter to the bank, signed by his six-year-old Labradoodle named Charley.

"When the letter came it was addressed to Noodles the dog - it was clearly someone who was in the house before - and I had no idea what it could be. We moved in August and the previous people had rented and I didn't know who they were, so I thought it would be fitting to send a reply from Charley."

A spokesman from NatWest said that it was not the first time he had seen unusual accounts like Noodles' before. "I worked in a branch years ago and people used to name their accounts after their animals and use them to pay for things such as vets' or kennel fees."

The bank does not expect Charley or Rupert Chapman to repay the previous tenants' debt.
