November 23 2012 at 5:58 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMy Cat "Long Tall Sally from the Alley" at six months,came home with a thorn in her eye. The vet said that she would lose the use of the eye and would not live very long outside the house.

Now she is 18 years old and has avoided all of "cat life's pitfalls" as a one eyed cat. She proves that "hardships and handicaps" can be overcomed with a little faith.
As for breeding for a certain trait: we have been doing this for 15000 years already. So if this trait is valuable, it will stay with us.
Remember; if something is not economical; we will lose it...

In humans such a condition is considered in need of correction. Humans who desire cats with crossed eyes need to cross their own eyes and consider what life would be like with such vision.
