The opportunity also allowed Banfi to get up close to the anaconda on land, as well. The diver confidently approached a snake digesting its meal.
"As the snake had just eaten, it didn't take much interest in us," Banfi told Daily Mail U.K. "Everything is possible, but I don't think it would have eaten us. I was very close; I could have touched it if I wanted to."

November 16 2012 at 2:04 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAnacondas don't attack anything they can't swallow. A full-grown man in diving gear? Hardly. Calling the snake deadly is misleading. Many Aquariums would to love to have this animal. I hope that (as human nature has proved) that no one tries to kill it. The article calls the snake a "predator." What does it think humans are?
November 15 2012 at 7:56 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis is fake. A 26 foot Anaconda would be a world record. If this were true, you'd have every single herpetologist in the world on the first plane they could get on to go to Brazil. But mostly this photo looks "photoshoped."
