Rachael Ray proves once again that she is a huge animal lover. According to ABC, the Food Network star is donating $500,000 to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to help those who were affected by Superstorm Sandy.

In addition to her large donation, Ray is also donating 4 tons of wet and dry dog food on behalf of her pet food brand Nutrish. Her Yum-o! organization is also donating $100,000 to City Harvest and the Food Bank for New York City.

"When you make your living in food, you have to give back in the same way," Rachael Ray said.

Ray's donation is the largest individual gift made by her rescue organization. Much of the donations are funded by the sale of her dog food brand.
