It's time-consuming enough to have to go and get your lunch, so we can only imagine how difficult it is to have to hunt for it, too! The Daily Mail UK shares a stunning photo sequence of a colorful chameleon grabbing an insect by its tongue for a midday meal.
-
The lizard used its super-long and super-fast tongue to capture unsuspecting prey. Its tongue is twice as long as its body!
-
With specially adapted muscles and bones, the chameleon is able to cling onto the blade of grass and lunge towards the bug.
-
Amateur photographer Shikhei Goh, 39, from Indonesia used his Canon 7D camera to capture this spectacular moment.
-
"I was walking through this grass field in Batam Island, Indonesia. All of a sudden, I stopped in my tracks because I saw this beautifully coloured chameleon clinging to a long shoot of grass," said Goh. It took him 40 minutes to take a photo of the hungry reptile.

"It was absolutely incredible watching it up close. It was so precise. It was really like watching nature at work," said Goh.

This is actually not a lizard, so to speak. It is an Ambilobe Panther Chameleon native to Africa.
