This past year, Seth Casteel took the Internet world by storm with his stunning photographs of dogs underwater. In just a few days, his work was shared via Facebook and Twitter for a combined total of 150 million views. Dog lovers fell in love at first sight, and now there's more where those amazing snapshots came from. Today, with the help of Little, Brown and Company, the famous photographer is releasing "Underwater Dogs," a collection of more than eighty portraits of his submerged four-legged friends. Now we know exactly what to put on our holiday wish list! Check out a sneak peek of the diving dogs featured in the book.
-
TOUGH TRAINING
Tryouts for the Woof Polo team included deep-dive chases for tennis balls.
-
BULLDOG BREATH
This was likely the moment that this Bulldog realized his nose was flat and he could not hold his breath as long as the other dogs.
-
CANNONBALL CANINE
This particular dog hasn't mastered the proper diving form quite yet. Let's just say he could use some lessons.
-
EYE PROTECTION
Fred thought to himself, "Next time, I'll wear my goggles."
-
FAR FETCH
The ball was always within reach, no matter how far he had to fetch it.
-
PRO PUP
The Golden Retriever popped his nose up for just a second. He took his cue from all the whale blowhole action he's seen on the National Geographic channel.
-
DIEHARD DOGGY
Dive or die, bros!
-
FIDO FUEL
The deep dive was worth the gassiness he would experience, post-swim sesh.

I'm sick of buying this book -- I've bought ten already for Xmas presents and may buy another ten. "Cut it out, Seth!"

and yes- the doggies weren't thrown in the water. Our Bubbie Bull would dive in and fetch heavy bricks out of the water.

October 23 2012 at 10:06 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMost dogs LOVE the water...they just look ridiculous when they are under it! Their eyes all big...exactly what my dog looks like when hes playing fetch in the pool! He doesn't care how he looks. lol

These pics are funny, the balls weren't photoshopped, you can see the dogs going after them in the water and the dogs weren't thrown in. Dummies. They were having a good time.
