Cute rare baby alert! According to The U.K. Daily Mail, a little white lion cub -- who has yet to be named -- made its one month debut at Leon's Zoo in the city of Leon, Mexico.
-
White lions are extremely rare and predominately live in zoos. This new baby is one of a population of only 300 white lions worldwide.
-
Sadly, many were taken from the wild in the 1970s and kept in captivity by Europeans for breeding.
-
Just like blue eyes in humans, the lion's white color is caused by a recessive gene. The coat shade can range from blonde to pure white.

These stunning creatures are native only to the Greater Timbavati region of South Africa, and they are considered sacred.

Is it an albino? This would be a natural yet unusual event.
