BABY GATORS  

A baby alligator is held up to the camera by a zookeeper at Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure. He is one of five alligator hatchlings that is on exhibit in the reptile building. 

CAPYCUTIES 

A couple of capybaras were recently born at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. They haven't quite learned to leave the side of their mother yet, but will soon learn to be a little more independent. 

HANGING OUT

A bat hangs upside down at BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo. Did you know bats are the only major predators of night-flying insects, and they usually eat more than half of their weight in insects every night?

OKAPI KISSES

History has been made with the arrival of Chester Zoo's first ever baby okapi to mum Stuma. The calf was born yesterday morning and both mum and youngster are getting along really well! 

AWESOME OWL BABY 

Prague Zoo is happy to announce the birth of their Malaysian eagle owl chick! 

THE RIGHT SPOT 

A baby gorilla gets tickled on the neck by its mother at Dublin Zoo. Wait 'till she gets to your underarms, little guy!

NEED A HAND?

A prairie dog collects some leaves and twigs in preparation for the cold winter. 

CURIOUS CREATURE 

Tree monitors often like to hide in the cork bark tubes in their exhibit at Oakland Zoo, but this one poked her head out to look around. 

HAPPY PANDA 

This rare red panda is one of two that have been born at Whipsnade in Bedfordshire. The twin girls, named Yin and Yang, have spent weeks in their nesting box tucked up to first-time mum Tashi, but are now starting to tentatively explore their surroundings! 

MOMMY & ME

ALBINO ADORABLE 

An albino kangaroo named Nala jumps around its enclosure at the zoo in the German city of Duisburg. 

LAST DAYS TOGETHER 

A walrus waits hangs out with an Alaska SeaLife caretaker before it gets shipped off to its new home. The orphaned walruses will soon move to new homes at zoos in Indianapolis and New York.

BLACK JAG NOT IMPRESSED 

A three-week-old black jaguar is held by a zookeeper in the zoo of Szeged near Budapest, Hungary. He's not impressed with just being simply held. He wants a hug, zookeeper!

LITTLE BROWN BEARS 

Cubs Toby and Kuba hang out with their Kamchatka brown bear family inside their enclosure at ZOO Brno. 

SAVE HOMELESS PETS 

A proposal on the Nov. 6 ballot in Miami-Dade County is being promoted by the Pets' Trust which would bring attention to the overpopulation of abandoned pets. It would help to set up clinics to do low-cost spaying and neutering of pets, and reduce euthanizing at the shelter.

BIG BIRD 

This is an Emu bird in its outdoor enclosure in the Duisburg Zoo in Germany. Emus are the second largest member of the ratite group of flightless birds. They are Australia's national bird. 

CHILDREN FIRST 

Older Senegalese sheep peep through a gate to watch the younger ones feed from a separate bowl first. 

SWEET SUCCESS

GEORGINA THE GREAT

Georgina the eight-week-old pygmy hippo is making a huge splash at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo in England. How could she not? She's absolutely adorable! 

SUNBATHING BEAUTY 

Oakland Zoo's ring-tailed lemur relaxes on the green grass of his enclosure. He's probably getting in the last bit of sun before the fall weather officially takes over.

Chester Zoo's baby Rothschild giraffe cuddles up close to its mom, Dagmar.

A young greater kudu stands in her enclosure at the Zoologischer Garten Zoo in Berlin. 

TAPIR TWEE

Passiflora, a Brazilian tapir, and her 4-day-old baby are seen at the Ramat Gan Safari, an open-air zoo near Tel Aviv. 

DOVE DARLING

Chesterton, Ind., resident and wild animal rehabilitator Linda Musgrave holds a baby dove in her hands.

Tennessee Aquarium is happy to present their tiny hatched spiny turtle. He popped out of his shell to say hello!

BABY WALRUS ALERT

An orphaned, 234-pound walrus named Mitik is coming for you, Coney Island! The big little calf has spent the last three months being nursed to health by the Alaska SeaLife Center. Too cute! 

LOVEBITE 

A cone-headed katydid bites on the finger of Zack Lemann, animal and visitor programs manager of the Audubon Butterfly Garden Insectarium in New Orleans. He and other employees are collecting bugs for their exhibits. 

PAW FIVE

Woodland Park Zoo's baby ocelot gives visitors a tiny paw five for coming to see him.

PRI-PLAY-MATES 

The endangered douc langur is a very social primate. They have many ways to communicate with each other using sight, sound and touch. Most of all, they love playing with one another! 

BIG AND BEAUTIFUL 

The largest parrot in the world is the endangered hyacinth macaw. They are bright violet-blue with yellow cheek patches. 

MUD BATH 

If you've never taken a relaxing mud bath, consider it. Just ask this little rhino. 

SELF-CRITICISM 

A mandrill stares at his jack-o'-lantern creation with much disappointment. We think it looks great, mandrill! 

BEAR RUN 

A grizzly bear cub runs after its mother upon exiting Pelican Creek at the Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. 

PONY PRIDE 

Santa Ana Zoo is home to many rare domestic breeds including Danny, the Exmoor pony. According to the ISIS database of zoo animal collections, there are only two zoos in the United States with this type of pony. 

HUNGRY BABY 

The Tulsa Zoo's tiger cub, Berani, gets fed his last bottle before he moves to his new home at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. 

TRUNK CRUSHER 

These cardboard boxes don't stand a chance against Houston Zoo's elephant herd.

A-DORMOUSE-ABLE

Staff from the Chester Zoo and Cheshire Wildlife Trust are doing their autumn checks on tiny dormice. This little guy has been monitored and fitted with a tiny microchip as part of an annual survey by conservationists. 

HAPPY COLOBUS DAY! 

While it isn't technically Colobus Day, we think it should be! This baby colobus monkey's cuteness needs to be celebrated, are we right?  

WALRUS RUN 

These walruses are thanking all those who participated in the Wildlife Conservation Society's Run for the Wild at the New York Aquarium last weekend. The 5K benefited walrus conservation. 

BEAR MEETS DOG 

Detroit Zoo's bush dogs look like a precious mix of a baby bear and a dog. If you're near the zoo, be sure to visit sisters Miranda and Dolly. 

EAGER BEAVERS 

This group of lemurs are getting a head start on Halloween! They were the first in the entire zoo to decorate their enclosure.  

BABY CLINGER  

Did you know that juvenile anteaters spend most of their first year clinging to their mother's backs? Hope this one rewards his mom with a few massages every now and then. 

CUTEST CUB MASCOT 

A tiger cub from the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo makes an appearance before Auburn's college football game against Arkansas.

Fort Wayne Children's Zoo's dingoes are growing up so fast!

Edinburgh Zoo is hosting a Creepy Crawly event to introduce people to a host of amazing new bugs and insects, like this one.
