These four-pawed performers are as iconic to their shows as any of their human co-stars. In celebration of the 2012 Emmy Awards, we've rounded up 15 of our favorite TV dog celebs whose award-worthy talents hold a very special place in our hearts.

    Show: "Modern Family"

    Real Name: Brigette

    Breed: French Bulldog

    Famous Fact: She has been described by The New York Post as being the most famous dog on television since Eddie from "Frasier."

    Famous Fact: Brandon was a puppy when the show first aired. Viewers were able to watch both Punky and Brandon grow up through the entire series, all 88 episodes from 1984 to 1988. He was named after the head of NBC, the network that aired "Punky Brewster."

    Real Name: Rin Tin Tin 

    Breed: German Shepherd 

    Famous Fact: Rin Tin Tin was paid almost eight times more than his human co-stars. He was nominated as best actor for the first Academy Awards (he was said to have gotten the most votes, although the Oscar went to a human) in 1929.

    Show: "Dukes of Hazzard"

    Real Name: Sandy 

    Breed: Basset Hound 

    Famous Fact: Although Flash was a male dog on the show, he was actually a she. Sandy was a rescue from a a dog shelter.

    Breed: Collie

    Famous Fact: Pal was the first canine actor to play "Lassie." He appeared in seven MGM films between 1943 and 1951, and the two pilots filmed for the 1954 television series before he retired.

    Breed: Yorkshire Terrier

    Famous Fact: The dogs were going to be written out of the script in order to save costs, but were saved by the show's stars Tom Selleck and John Hillerman, who didn't want the show to go on without them.
