TV would be nothing without its animal actors. We're still wondering why none of them have ever wagged away with an Emmy. These four-pawed performers are as iconic to their shows as any of their human co-stars. In celebration of the 2012 Emmy Awards, we've rounded up 15 of our favorite TV dog celebs whose award-worthy talents hold a very special place in our hearts.
STELLA
Show: "Modern Family"
Real Name: Brigette
Breed: French Bulldog
Famous Fact: She has been described by The New York Post as being the most famous dog on television since Eddie from "Frasier."

COMET
Show: "Full House"
Real Name: Buddy
Breed: Golden Retriever
Famous Fact: After "Full House," Buddy went on to star in the popular Disney film "Air Bud."

BUCK
Show: "Married... With Children"
Real Name: Michael
Breed: Briard Mix
Famous Fact: Michael was 12-and-a-half when he retired from "Married... With Children," after serving as the family dog for eight years on the show.

BRANDON
Show: "Punky Brewster"
Real Name: Brandon
Breed: Golden Retriever
Famous Fact: Brandon was a puppy when the show first aired. Viewers were able to watch both Punky and Brandon grow up through the entire series, all 88 episodes from 1984 to 1988. He was named after the head of NBC, the network that aired "Punky Brewster."

Real Name: Moose
Breed: Jack Russell Terrier
Famous Fact: At the height of the show, not only did Moose receive tons of fan mail, he also landed the cover of Entertainment Weekly.

RIN TIN TIN
Show: "The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin"
Real Name: Rin Tin Tin
Breed: German Shepherd
Famous Fact: Rin Tin Tin was paid almost eight times more than his human co-stars. He was nominated as best actor for the first Academy Awards (he was said to have gotten the most votes, although the Oscar went to a human) in 1929.

FLASH
Show: "Dukes of Hazzard"
Real Name: Sandy
Breed: Basset Hound
Famous Fact: Although Flash was a male dog on the show, he was actually a she. Sandy was a rescue from a a dog shelter.

LASSIE
Show: "Lassie"
Real Name: Pal
Breed: Collie
Famous Fact: Pal was the first canine actor to play "Lassie." He appeared in seven MGM films between 1943 and 1951, and the two pilots filmed for the 1954 television series before he retired.

MIGNON
Show: "Green Acres"
Real Name: Mignon
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier
Famous Fact: Although Mignon made many appearances during the first season of "Green Acres" alongside Lisa Gronyitz Douglas, he was not seen very much throughout the rest of the season.

Show: "Mad About You"
Real Name: Maui
Breed: Border Collie Mix
Famous Fact: Maui was found in an animal shelter and was taken in by a famous Hollywood animal trainer. In addition to "Mad About You," Maui also starred in commercials and was backup for the top dog in the feature film "Bingo."

Breed: Cardigan Welsh Corgi
Famous Fact: Bub the dog played Nunzio, but was later replaced by Twiggy during the 2000-2001 season.

Breed: American Bull Terrier
Famous Fact: Pal was the original dog actor in "Little Rascals," and had a natural ring around his eye.

Show: "Magnum P.I."
Real Names: Whiskey, Brutus and Dominique
Breed: Doberman Pinscher
Famous Fact: The dogs were going to be written out of the script in order to save costs, but were saved by the show's stars Tom Selleck and John Hillerman, who didn't want the show to go on without them.

Show Name: "The Brady Bunch"
Real Name: Tiger
Breed: Mutt
Famous Fact: Tiger was killed in a car accident during the first season. His successors were not as adept as actors as he was, so the dog was written out of the script.

Famous Fact: Soccer beat out over 100 dogs who auditioned for the role of Wishbone. He appeared in almost every episode of the show during its run from 1995-1998.
