A kiwi chick hatches at Auckland Zoo during their spring breeding season. The chick, a flightless bird that will grow to about the size of a domestic fowl, is the fifth born this season, and has been named Nick.
In a couple of years, he can wake at 6 am, smell you at forty miles away, come straight to your location---over ice, water and mountains and in a straight line---to eat you for lunch. Keep him the hell away from me.
