    A common woe for cat owners is their felines' love for destroying furniture. Cat lovers have tried all sorts of preventive measures, but this new Cat Tunnel Sofa is probably the most pawsome solution.

    According to Reuters, the cat-friendly couch is crafted by South Korean designer Seungji Mun. The furniture piece is an ideal and quirky solution for cat owners who live in small spaces and don't have extra room for feline furniture.

    The tunnel was added into the sofa so that one end allows entry from the floor and an exit out of the sofa arm on the other side. There is also an additional hole in the middle of the tube so cats can keep an eye on the TV and what their owners are up to.

    This couch isn't all about cats. Mun used modern design techniques and materials to craft a piece that is relaxing and enjoyable for owners too.

    Worried about how your feline will react to the strange-looking sofa? Mun says not to be too concerned. "When the cats first saw the sofa, they instinctively went into the tunnel as if they knew it was for them," the designer told Reuters.

    Mun was inspired to make the piece based on the living conditions in his country. Many of the 19.2 million pet owners in Korea are crammed around the country's capital of Seoul. The designer wanted to offer citizens a way to interact with their animals while not losing valuable space.

    As an answer, Mun created the Cat Tunnel Sofa with two other designers as a graduation project. After the positive response, the designer plans to put the piece on the market in 2013.

    "It's a living room where people spend most of their time together with their pets, not their room. I thought the sofa could be a place for communication between pets and their owners," Mun told Reuters, summing up why he thinks the Cat Tunnel Sofa will be successful.
