    Occupy Wall Street may be out of Zuccotti Park in New York City, but the space still has one little protestor. According to Gothamist, an illegal, leashed ferret was spied by a photographer strolling through the now infamous park.

    Ferrets are illegal to keep as pets in New York City due to the health code. This is a ban that former mayor Rudy Giuliani pushed for during his time governing the city.

    Due to this rule, photographer Dan Nguyen was surprised to see a pet owner proudly walking her ferret around the city streets. Because it was rare sight even for NYC, Nguyen decided to snap a few shots of the furry pedestrian.

    Nguyen also spoke to the animal's owner, who said she is often questioned by strangers about the legality of her ferret. According to Gothamist, the woman usually just tells these nosy folks off, saying that if the animal is on the leash it shouldn't be a problem.

    Even though these little guys seems to be fitting in fine, it is still illegal to keep ferrets as pets in the city. Other animals that are illegal to own under the same health code are a weasel, marten, mink, badger, ermine, skunk, otter, pole cat, zorille, wolverine or stoat.

    Rudy Giuliani was well known for his venemous dislike for the pet. The former mayor even told one ferret-owner, "There is something deranged about you. ... The excessive concern you have for ferrets is something you should examine with a therapist. ... There is something really, really very sad about you. ... This excessive concern with little weasels is a sickness. ... You should go consult a psychologist."

    This crosswalk-abiding ferret doesn't seem too menacing to us. Hopefully he has some happy trails ahead.
