Its not a "American" Alsatian. Its a Alsatian because hes French. The American Alsatian is mixed with other breeds. But the French just call German Shepherd Dog "Alsatian" because of ww1.
The guy is French, they call them "Alsatians". A lot of people call them that because they don't like "German" in the name. It dates back to WW1. The German Shepherd Dog was on both sides of the war.
