Now that Mini is on the fast track to a healthy life, she is focused on making sure she looks her best for her new family.
Load of bloody bullocks! This lil man is not 1.3oz. I can tell by his size in relation to the hands of the person holding him! Mini's 3 ounces @least here! I've a pup that's similarly sized now at 4oz & 2wks old. Pics are quite similar as she's Yorkie/Min Pin cross. First I bred Min Pins for yrs(even had 1 finished Champion by age 3. More recently, I've bred a few litters of Yorkies or half+half Yorkie/Min Pin. (FYI ppl cross Yorkie w/other toy breed pups @times just to achieve more hypoallergenic pups if dander allergies are a concern. Yorkies grow long lux hair like we do, NOT fur. Doubtful anyone bred these dogs 'down' for generations to get this size-it's commonplace esp in U.S.) As for Mini, tho I'm sure he's become quite thoroughly adorable, I'd bet he's *now* a VERY AVERAGE dog--likely weighing approx 7 lbs. Sorry Mini, you're no record breaker in my book, even if you melted hearts w/your puppy pix :).
PawNation keeps referring to Mini as a "she" but in at least one picture, it's obviously a "he! Maybe PawNation needs a refresher course in biology.
so cute but so tiny is that healthy??
he is so cute but do tiny is that healthy ?
That is so cute but smaill
I don't have anything against cross breeds (now called "designer dogs") but I think it's criminal to breed them to be so small (or have short snouts) when it makes them so susceptible to to broken bones and illnesses. If you want such a tiny pet, get a hamster. Although they really are cute!I'd love to have a Chihuahua but I don't know anyone that has one that isn't yappy. I can't get my poodle to stop barking so I'm pretty sure I'd be a failure with a Chihuahua also.
A Yorkie and Chihuahua mix? Wow... That's got to be the most annoying combination of ankle biters!
Mini will grow. I bred Yorkies for awhile. and I have a rescued female Chihuahua that I let breed with my Yorkie. Her babies were very tiny at birth too. (2 to 6 ozs at birth) but they grew to be between 3 and 5 lbs full grown. :) But they are adorable as any new baby is.. a miracle, each and every one!! :)
It's hard on dogs to keep changing them. Sure, it's cute, but no fun for the dogs. They're so highly breed, they sicken easily and are delicate. Can't we stop the breeding, especially the designer breeds. So many sweet dogs need to be rescued.
