Scottish Fold Cat Shows Off Array of Tricks
Scottish Folds have a reputation for being pretty lazy when it comes to their cuteness. With huge eyes and silly ears, these felines exude strong forces of adorableness without lifting a paw or twitching a whisker. But now a bolt of active energy is charging through the Scottish Fold community, causing these kitties to get up and show that there's more to them then mere good looks. One of their breakout stars is this fantastic Fold, who effortlessly performs a circuit of cuddly tricks including, jumps, paw-fives and paw-shakes. That's one talented pussycat!

August 18 2012 at 12:40 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMy cat and I play REAL hide and seek. It is SO MUCH FUN! First, I chase him up stairs, and he picks a room to hide in. Sometimes behind the door. Even though I know where he went, I pretend I don't know, and I go through the whole "Where's Harley??" thing. As I walk past the room he is in, he will jump out and hit the back of my legs! I'll pretend he scared me, and then we run around and I go and hide. He will come looking for me, and I will jump out and scare him! It doesn't take long to teach them this game, try it!

August 17 2012 at 11:33 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyUm.... and how is this news worthy? Cats have always been able to do tricks... its just that unlike dogs they are not prone to obeying commands, it takes a different approach to get them to cooperate. Dogs are instinctively pack animals and are hardwired to obey 'alpha' where as cats are usually loners out in the wild with nobody to answer to. Even in lion prides there isn't always just one male in charge.

here is some of what they do...there's more on my page
the newest I am teaching him is "be shy"...put their paw in front of their face.
but they know give 5, wave, fetch, high 5, high wave, sit up, bow, turn left, turn right, walk on a leash, hug (from chest) ...I can't remember I try to teach them when I can.
My cat gives 5, waves, fetches, high 5, high wave, sits up, bows, turns left, turns right, weaves in and out of legs, and the newest I am teaching is "shy" like dogs hiding their face behind their paw. :)
