Six Kittens Found Stuffed in Backpack and Abandoned in Alley

The start of the new school year is just around the corner, so you might expect to see some backpacks hanging around, but not satchels stuffed with kittens. According to the (U.K.) Daily Mail, a couple in Alberta, Canada discovered in an alley a backpack bursting with six abandoned kittens.
The couple came across the fluffy find when one of the kittens popped out of the bag to investigate their dog. Worried about the health of the little lost cats, the animal lovers took the kittens to a nearby Humane Society.
Gord Gerbrandt explained to the Edmonton Sun, ''I am pretty mad someone would dump them like that. This makes me angry, since the Humane Society is close by.'
Staff at the Humane Society gave the kittens physicals, noting that they were hungry, thirsty and a little freaked out, which was to be expected given the condition in which they were found. Otherwise, none of the animals have serious medical issues, and they should be ready for adoption soon.

Right now, the shelter is working on socializing the cuties and bringing each of them to a healthy weight. Once the kittens are healthy and fully comfortable with people, the Humane Society plans on posting information about them on its Facebook page to help find them loving homes.
Sadly, animal abandonment has become a growing problem for this shelter. The Humane Society told the Daily Mail the abandonment rate this year is almost double that of last year.

I wish i would have found those kitten i would have totally kept them. There so adorable. Why would anyone do such a thing and especially in a book bag come on. Really. it makes me want another kitten.

They are both members of our family! I hope the people who did this have a severe session of "what goes around comes around" and they will have to answer to a higher authority some day.
