MEET BUG Z THE DOG 

Bug Z the celebri-dog attends Hallmark Channel's TCA Summer Press Tour in Beverly Hills, Calif.

LOVE CONNECTION 

A red panda named Ole explores his new open-air enclosure at a zoo in Hanover, Germany. The red panda was brought to Hanover to meet the 3-year-old female red panda named Shana. Zookeepers hope they become a couple. 

CUBAN CROCODILES 

Zoo Miami welcomed four newly hatched Cuban crocodiles recently. Cuban crocodiles are more brightly colored and comparatively smaller compared to most other crocs. 

DRINK UP 

Monty the Wadworth Brewery shire horse chugs a pint of beer outside the Raven Inn in Poulton as he starts his two-week annual holiday near Devizes, England. 

HIDE AND SEEK 

A new baby sea lion is stealing hearts all over the Memphis Zoo. 

COOL OFF 

Burgers' Zoo's African penguins keep completely cool in the summer by taking a dip in the pool. 

MICROSCOPIC CREATURE 

A keeper at the Oregon Zoo holds a newly hatched western pond turtle in his hand. These turtles are endangered, but the zoo is trying to help reintroduce them. 

THE LONELY DUCKLING 

A flock of adorable little ducklings keep warm under their mother, except for one tiny bird that was left out in the cold.

RELEASE INTO THE WILD 

On Friday evening, the Audobon Society successfully released four barn owls back into the wild. They flew into the sunset at the beautiful Luscher Farm Community Gardens, where they'll help to control the rodent population. 

SUMMER SNACK

The animal caretakers at Zoo Sauvage in France sure know how to whip up a tasty snack. A Japanese macaque noms on mashed potatoes (with a bit of blue dye) smashed in an ice-cream cone. 

HANG ON

An anteater born in June hangs on tight to its mother at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fla. Keepers are not yet sure if the baby anteater is male or female, but once they are able to identify the gender, it will be named.

5-month-old tiger-cat cub Chikita lounges around her enclosure in Mulhouse, France.

PRAGUE CASTLE KING 

A young swan on the Vltava river near Prague Castle strikes a pose on a warm sunny day in Prague.

AFTERNOON STROLL 

A puma cub enjoys the sun and walks alongside its mother at Exmoor Zoo. 

OWABI ADORABLE 

Owabi, a 2-week-old Roloway monkey, is one of the 25 most endangered primate species in the world.

ZOO WORKOUT 

The National Zoo's grey zebra breaks a sweat chasing its ball around the pen. 

MANATEE LIBERTY  

The Zoo's manatee rehab staff took Caxy the manatee home to Caxambas Pass Park in Marco Island, Fla. She was rescued in April from Caxambas Bay with a boat-strike injury, and is now ready to resume her life in the Florida waters.

KANGA PEEKABOO

A new joey peeks out of its mom's pouch at Happy Hollow Park and Zoo in San Jose, Calif.

LOVE NIBBLES 

Snuggling with a baby small-eared dog at the Praha Zoo isn't as sweet as it seems. Most adult dogs have to endure a bit of a nibble sesh. It doesn't look fun, but it sure looks cute! 

HIP HIPPO HOORAY 

Hula the baby hippo enjoyed her first outdoors swim at Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire, England. The 10-month-old is the first baby hippo to be born at the zoo. She was named Hula because it's a mix of her parents' names, Hoover and Lola. 

JACKSON AND OLIVER 

Jackson Galaxy, cat behaviorist and host of "My Cat From Hell," works with Oliver the cat while filming an episode of his show's third season. 

THE MORE, THE MERRIER

The Alaska SeaLife center rescued two more walrus calves last night. The center now has a total of 16 harbor-seal pups and three walrus calves.

KING'S CASTLE 

A warthog walks around his home. The only thing he's missing is his crown! 

MUD BATH 

A tiger at Burgers' Zoo in Arnhem, the Netherlands, lays around in muddy water, enjoying the nice summer weather.

DOLPHIN DIVE 

A bottlenose dolphin leaps out from the water in Melbourne's Port Phillip Bay. What beautiful form! 

TRIPLE CELEBRATIONS

A lynx kitten prowls through the meadow in his enclosure at England's ZSL Whipsnade Zoo. He is one third of the zoo's newest triplet addition. 

PANGOLIN RESCUE 

A rescued baby pangolin is released in the forest by a government wildlife and conservation officer. Indonesian police intercepted 85 endangered pangolins.  

WHAT'S UP, WALRUS?

A male walrus calf, presumed to have been separated from a large group of walruses, was rescued by the North Slope Borough’s Department of Wildlife Management. He is currently recovering and spending time in his new kiddie pool.

TRACK AND FIELD 

An elephant at Tampa's Lowry Park and Zoo participates in his own Olympics. Looks like he's getting ready for the discus throw! 

LITTLE BITTY OTTER BABY

Rebecca, one of Chester Zoo's 10-week-old Asian short-clawed otters, looks around at the guests and shows off how adorable she is. 

ZEBRA CUDDLES

FIRST CALIFORNIA SEA LION PUP 

Attica Zoological Park in Athens, Greece welcomed their first California sea lion pup. The precious baby was born to proud parents Mara and Charlie. Congrats!

GREY OWL GENERATIONS

A young great grey owl and its father sit in the owls' enclosure at the Berlin Zoologischer Garten in Germany. 

PRECIOUS CARGO

A Mindanao water monitor lizard hangs out in the hand of an authority in Hong Kong six weeks after a group of reptiles was intercepted at the city's airport in a passenger's luggage.

TURTLE RESCUE 

34 western swamp tortoises bred and raised at Australia's Perth Zoo were released into Twin Swamps Nature Reserve as part of recovery efforts for this critically endangered species.

PEEKABOO

A young seal named Fips looks out of a tub at the seal nursery in Friedrichskoog, Germany. The animal was found at a shipyard in Hamburg at the beginning of July, and was brought to the nursery in Friedrichskoog.

SAFETY FIRST 

A pug readies itself for the water at Takeno Beach in Toyooka, Japan. Every summer, the beach opens itself up to owners and their ocean-loving pups. 

BABY LOVE

A 4-month-old giant-panda cub named Zhen Zhen leans against her mother, Bai Yun, in their enclosure at the San Diego Zoo. 

CLEVELAND'S BESTIES 

A capybara and a giant anteater have formed a best friendship while sharing an enclosure at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

Akira the baby ape is turning 1. She celebrates her birthday in the south yard at the Great Apes of Harambee with her family.
