    Everybody wants somebody to love. Perhaps those who share this sentiment the most are shelter pets. Lu Parker, a renowned TV journalist in Los Angeles, is dedicated to helping homeless dogs and cats find their special someones. Through her non-profit organization, The Lu Parker Project, she founded Project Picture, which encourages people through heartwarming portraits to adopt shelter pets. Each animal is given a chance to "groom up," put on its best grin and strike a winning pose.     "Hi! Our names are Tom and Jerry, and we're 5-week-old, male kittens. We were brought to the shelter when our mom had babies, and were adopted together a few weeks later!"

    MEET BROWNY

    "My name is Browny. I'm a 6-month-old, female Pit Bull. I have a lot of energy, and loved being able to go on long runs with the Lu Parker volunteers. I am a puppy, and love to do puppy things like play, jump and eat lots of treats."
