10 Smartest Animals

    6. CROWS

What Makes Them Smart: Don't cross a crow; they are slick birds. Crows and jays know how to use tools, play games, and have been recorded pulling tricks on each other. The birds have a complex dialect that varies based on population.

Recent Discovery: Seriously, don't cross a crow. Scientists have come to believe that this bird can remember faces of people they find dangerous. Crows most likely remember these faces for their lifetimes, and may recruit family members to mob disliked individuals. (Discovery)

I love the world and all that is in it. Chicken and eggs are my guilty pleasure as is any exotic animal, plant or insect. I think one must at least try things once if it appeals to you or is suggested as a delicacy, as long as it is not a protected species or hurting anyone, and disrespectful in any manner. Everything that is living seems edible to me, but I have made limits and boundaries because I believe I am being civil. Things that may be edible trigger thoughts like just how would one cook that, season it, and with what condiments, as well as, with what sauces, sides, etc. which instantly come to mind often remain a thought. I am a natural epicurean, and sad to say carnivore. However, most living things considered food I prefer to enjoy left in their habitat, and just as I interact with humans, the more vulnerable and the more childlike and fragile that animal or thing is, the more my nurturing, compassionate and caring feelings arise compelling me to abide protecting them and preserving their life which is then my stronger focus. Moreover my goal is to be a total vegetarian again. I once was a Buddhist for many years. I feel whether smart or not so smart, all life and even all things deserve respect. I also learned just because I could put it into my mouth that doesn't make it right to eat it. I know some pretty things are poisonous too. Also, I love my pets and cringe at the thought they are food in some societies, and I feel bad that even I have the notion, perhaps, they are tastier than they look at times. Hunger is disturbing. Yes, sometimes my wife is so cuddly I just want to bite her. Well I would never eat her all up, I am not a wolf nor would anyone say I was a clever fox, but I have been called a greedy dog. However, I am just a tortoise racing around the bend looking at life from the roots up. Wella! I have sounded off, and my entire escapade is a free fall.

It is too bad humans have taken the attitude we are the center of the universe and any other creature must be at our disposal as we so deem it. The animals have so much more intelligence we give them credit for, if only we would get off our high horse and give them a change. But no, some people have to have that superiority to have their say in the matter and treat animals like a sub species that have no value. Horrible. On my own part I love any animals with the exception of snakes. They give me hibbie jeebies. If we only look closely, any animal is beautiful in their own right. And enjoy them no matter what.

I LOVE YOU MOM!

I quit buying pork when I first saw a video of pigs in cages. Quit buying veal years ago, and cook beef once or twice a month, sometimes less. Down to chicken and seafood; can't get excited over a dead clam or shrimp. My 33 year old Connemara pony, who I bought when she was 13 months old, mumbles and moves her lips when I talk or sing to her. Has always cracked my kids up because I'm the only one she talks back to. She opens the barn door for me (she goes in & out freely) and follows me around without a rope or halter when we walk the pasture. Animals are amazing and should be protected.

Some times we do not appreciate the intelligence of the animals. Every single one is a master piece created by God.
