A biologist at the National Zoo's Reptile Discovery Center in Washington holds a 13-day-old Cuban crocodile hatchling. Two crocodiles hatched from surprise eggs laid by a 50-something-year-old Cuban crocodile earlier this month.

This baby hawskbill is one of 24 sea turtles that have been rescued by SeaWorld Orlando this year.

WELCOME, BABY SPOON-BILLED SANDPIPER
This little guy is one of the first spoon-billed sandpipers to hatch in the U.K. The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust travelled to Russia in 2010 and collected spoon-billed sandpiper eggs from the wild. This emergency action was taken when it become apparent there could be as few as 200 of these unique birds left in the world.
