More Than 300 Dogs Seized From Texas Home

Hundreds of dogs have been seized from a hoarding situation in Montgomery County, Texas. According to KENS, the Humane Society was shocked and appalled when they arrived on the property and witnessed the abominable conditions to which the dogs were subjected.

A spokesperson for the Humane Society reported that the rescue is underway. So far, 32 dogs have been transported away in a trailer. Most of the dogs were malnourished Pit Bulls and toy breeds.

"The lack of care, the lack of veterinary care, the lack of stimulation, the lack of even human interaction was astonishing. Many of them are in cramped, tight cages, cages so small, they can't even stand up or turn around. They're living in their own waste," said Katie Jarl, the Director of the Humane Society of the United States.

Humane Society workers hope to adopt out every dog that is moderately healthy. It is uncertain whether the woman who owned the dogs will face any animal-cruelty charges.
