Dog Can Read Chinese Characters

Some of us have difficulty just teaching our dogs their own names, but Huzi proves that man's best friend can be one of the smartest creatures in the animal kingdom given a little bit of guidance.
According to WTSP-TV, Huzi can read about 30 Chinese characters in addition to recognizing pictures of animals. Fan Moling, a resident of the northernmost province of Heilongjiang, China, trained his dog for only a few months, after which Huzi could demonstrate to his owner what he had learned.

"My friend suggested that I should teach (Chinese) characters to Huzi as she is very clever. So I wrote some characters on a cigarette box and as I pronounce each one, Huzi can recognize which one I'm reading out. And we carry this on for a while as a form of training," said Fan Moling.
Currently, Huzi is able to recognize more than 30 characters, including his name, the city he lives in and the word "Beijing." It seems only a matter of time before he'll be working out calculus equations on an abacus.
