Some say seven is a lucky number, and for the Perth Zoo it certainly is. The park recently welcomed seven adorable African painted dog pups, born to an 8-year-old mom named Mara. This lovely litter is great news for the African painted dog population, which is highly threatened in the wild. The precious newcomers have just started to explore their habitat, and zoo workers are excited to see that the other adult African painted dogs are interested in lending Mara a paw in raising her big brood.
