THE ODD COUPLE
Jet the dolphin and Miri the seal are the best of friends. The darling duo cannot wait to see each other every day at their home inside the Pet Porpoise Pool in Coffs Harbour, Australia. They love playing tag or chatting it up in the pool. According to the their keeper, it is unlikely the pair would be friends in the wild because they would be competing for fish.

1-week-old lion cubs make their first public appearance at a zoo in the southern Russian city of Stavropol this week. We're not sure if they were quite ready for their debut so early in the morning; they still look half asleep!

REST IN PEACE, GUNNAR
It's a sad day at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. The zoo's senior male gray seal, Gunnar, recently died. 38-year-old Gunnar lived a full and happy life, outliving most seals. We send our deepest condolences to everyone at the National Zoo.
