Weekly Adorbs for June 25-29

WELCOME TO THE WORLD 

1-week-old lion cubs make their first public appearance at a zoo in the southern Russian city of Stavropol this week. We're not sure if they were quite ready for their debut so early in the morning; they still look half asleep! 

STAY SLY AND FLY  

A beautiful horned puffin sits on the water at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. He is one of two puffins being shown at the Ocean Travelers exhibit. 

WATER BREAK

Sydney, a 15-year-old camel, takes a quick water break on a hot day at the Chattanooga Zoo. Nothing screams summer more than a spray from the water hose! 

CHIMP TREATS 

A cute chimpanzee holds an icy treat made of Crystal Light and fruit at a zoo in Tennessee. 

WELCOME, HUMANS

Timber the  inturong greets visitors and welcomes them to the Atlanta Zoo. These peculiar-looking creatures are also known as Asian bear cats. 

HOG WASH 

Honey, a 2-year-old American Guinea hog cools off in a pool of water as temperatures neared the 100-degree mark at the Brookfield Zoo in Brookfield, Ill. 

SWEET SKIPPING 

Jule, a baby Rothschild giraffe, skips around in her enclosure at Tierpark Berlin zoo in Germany. Jule was born at the zoo only a few weeks ago! 

BIG BEAR DIVE

Sometimes, a pool isn't quite refreshing enough. Aussie, a 27-year-old polar bear at the Brookfield Zoo stays extra cool with a large block of ice in his pool. 

SEA LIONS HANG AROUND 

Three sea lion cubs explore their compound in the Hellabrunn Zoo in Munich, Germany. 

PUPPY IMPOSTOR

This fennec fox kit is one of the first to be born at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, N.Y. in 21 years. That's a lot to celebrate, but let's let let the little guy get his bearings first. 

CATS NEED WALKS TOO

Staff at the Houston Zoo have to walk the cats, not the dogs. The facility's cheetahs are allowed to stretch out their super-fast legs on the zoo's grounds before it opens each morning. 

I'M WATCHING YOU

Mother seal Inga keeps a close watch on her new baby. The 6-day-old sweetie is still waiting for a name. The pair live at a zoo in Augsburg, Germany. 

POLAR PSYCHIC

Antonia the polar bear puts her predicting powers to the test, carefully choosing Italy to trump Germany in their Euro Cup 2012 match. This was a risky choice by Anotnia, since she lives in a German zoo. 

CATTING ABOUT TOWN

The Exmoor Zoo is keeping a close eye on their puma, Fhu, and her cubs. The staff can't help snapping photos of the mother and kids on a daily basis. Watch out, or those kittens will turn into divas. 

GIVE A DOG A BALL

Lisa Thom sits with a few of her adorable residents and their favorite toys. Thom volunteers at the Dog's Trust Harefield Rehoming Center, helping pups find permanent families. Every year the center receives a large shipment of used tennis balls from the Wimbledon Tennis Championship. 

PAUSE AND PONDER

Zoo Atlanta's gorilla, Charlie, takes some time out from monkeying around to look back on his life with a smile. 

LOOKING FOR SNACKS

Appetite isn't a issue for Malik the babirusa piglet. Over the past month, this newborn has grown from one pound to eight pounds. Some may say she's being a hog, but the Lowry Park Zoo is happy to see their resident growing up strong. 

HOO ARE YOU?

Meet one of the Smithsonian National Zoo's new burrowing owl chicks. A month after birth, these babies are just testing out the flying power of their wings. Happy travels, little one. 

FACE TIME

Thanks to the help of actress Hilary Swank, stray Romanian dogs are getting a second chance. One of these lucky pups shows off his sweeter side in this photo, helping an elderly woman during a dog therapy session. 

PAW WAVES

A baby panda at the Giant Panda Research Base in Chengdu, China is happy to greet his adoring fans. Visitors to the facility were introduced to the cub as party of the Dragon Boat Festival.

PRETTY, PRETTY PIG

One of the micro pigs from Pennywell Farm poses for the camera and shows off her plies. This oinker is just one of the dozens adorable pigs photographed for the farm's calendar. 

WE NEED YOUR PRINTS

Mr Munro, a Fiordland penguin at the Taronga Zoo in Australia, offered up his foot print for a good cause. Animals of the zoo put their prints on a canvas to show their support for an elephant conservation project in Thailand that is aligned with the Aussie zoo. 

CAT NAP INTERRUPTED 

Larry, British Prime Minister David Cameron's cat, had a rude awakening. A policeman had to move the snoozing feline from the middle of the road outside 10 Downing Street when cars started leaving from a Cabinet meeting. 

WHAT'S UP, DOC?

Perth Zoo's seven newborn African painted dog pups went in for their first check up. All the cuties were weighed, microchipped and given physicals. They all received a thumbs up from the doctor. Mom will be proud.

FLUFFY BUTT

A snowy plover chick proves that this birdie's got back. The sweet ball of fuzz is one of four chicks strutting around the Monterey Bay Aquarium. 

RHINOS AT REST

This sleepy little rhino is a special guy.He's one of the few Sumatran rhinos born in captivity in the past 100 years. The baby was born with no complication and is now enjoying some quality time with its mom at the Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary.

OTTER DON'T KNOW

Something confusing must be going down at the Exmoor Zoo, because their short-clawed otter looks truly baffled. Perhaps they gave him a "New York Times" Saturday crossword puzzle. 

PONDERING PUSSYCAT

Big cats have big thoughts. A tiger at the Indianapolis Zoo is trying to get its paws around one right now. 

YING AND YANG

These owlets may be dealing with opposing emotions, but both of them are still darling. The fluffy chicks are part of a hatching of Snowy Owlets at a zoo in Hanover, Germany.

DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DOG STAR

Rin Tin Tin and Lassie wait outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood for the start of the pawprint ceremony for fellow canine celebrity Uggie, the dog who starred in the Academy Award-winning film "The Artist." The ceremony marked Uggie's retirement from acting.

SEVEN SWINES TO SMILE ABOUT

Lincoln Park Zoo just got seven times cuter. They just welcomed a litter of pink-and-black Berkshire piglets earlier this week. Animal keepers were not expecting the piglets' arrival, so you can imagine how pleasantly surprised they were to discover the newborns. 

SIT BACK AND CHILLAX 

A bear celebrates summer solstice and soaks up the sun in his pool at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens. 

IT'S A FAMILY AFFAIR

Kenzi, Saint Louis Zoo's baby elephant, stands alongside her grandma, mom and two sisters. Kenzi is turning one this Sunday. We wonder how they'll all celebrate!

WAKE UP, POPS!

A little lion cub at the Smithsonian National Zoo climbs on top of his pops to wake up him for the day. But father lion doesn't look too excited about getting up so early. 

PORCU-PRECIOUS 

A precious porcupine snacks on something tasty in his enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo. 

SAVE THE OTTERS

According to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the California State Sea Otter Fund passed. The fund now has $288,817 to support sea-otter research and conservation. Guess who's stoked about it? This little guy!

PANDA CAT NAP

Tian Tian the Panda takes an afternoon cat nap in her tree house at the Edinbrugh Zoo. 

HEDGE-HOGLETS

Three tiny hoglets gather together as a part of the Happy Hollow Park Zoo's education animal collection. When they grow up to be a little bit older, they will be out and about visiting schools. 

BEST FRIENDSHIP 

Army veteran Brad Schwarz brings his service dog and best friend Panzer for a checkup at Southwest Animal Care Center. Schwarz and Panzer take good care of one another. Panzer helps Schwarz cope with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). 

MAMA MOLLY 

Molly, a 2-year-old Bulldog, nurses kittens Friday afternoon at a home in Columbia, Ala. Molly started feeding the kittens after their mother died last week. Learn more about Molly.

BRIGHT-EYED BUDDY 

A frog perches on top of a reed to get a better look at visitors coming into his home in Costa Rica. He looks a bit startled, doesn't he? 

LEMUR LUNCH TIME 

A lemur grabs a bite from an employee at the Rome Bioparco during lunch in Rome, Italy. Over the last few days, due to very high temperatures, the staff at the zoo have provided animals with extra portions of frozen fruit to help them fight the heat.

PIG PEEK-A-BOO

A young pig peers through a fence to check the weather in his hometown of Lofer, Austria. It's finally sunny and warm after heavy rain showers poured over the town.

MONKEY MUNCHIES 

A zookeeper feeds a few squirrel monkeys at tropical park "Gondwanaland" inside of the Leipzig Zoo in Germany. Looks like one little guy needs a little help picking out the perfect cherry.  

BABY TIGER TOUR

A mother tiger shows her cub around its new home at a zoo in Krefeld, Germany. It appears as though he likes what he sees so far! 

SLEEPY BEAR 

A Malayan sun bear takes a nap in the middle of his enclosure at the Oregon Zoo. The warm temperatures make for the perfect afternoon nap setting.
