If the animal kingdom had a best dad contest, we think the Darwin's frog would definitely be in the running for first place. Sure, papa penguins take on egg-sitting duties for weeks at a time and male bat-eared foxes watch the kids while the wifey is out foraging. But the slimy, big-eyed amphibian takes paternal parenting to the next level, as evidenced in this National Geographic video. The male Darwin's frog's tadpoles develop in his vocal sac. After they have matured a bit, he begins to cough them out. Yes, it is as weird as it sounds. Watch the video to see father frog in action!
