    Job: Police Dogs

    About: Dogs were first used in police work during the late 1800s in England, spreading throughout Europe and eventually into the United States. They primarily were used for companionship and protection, but their sense of smell gave them a vital role in police forces. Modern-day police dogs undergo extensive training programs where they are trained in patrol functions, and learn detection and search-and-rescue skills.
