Duckling Goes for a Jog

More on PawNation: Awesome, Cute, Duck, Farm Animals

A jogger accompanied by a loyal dog isn't such an unusual sight, but a duck? That's quackin' crazy!

In this adorable clip, Charley the duckling tags along as his human companion gets some exercise. Maybe they're training for a marathon?

The duck is fine. He's not stressed or feeling neglected. Stop complaining about everything...

that duckling is imprinting. we have plenty of new ducklings walking my neighborhood with their moms, they stay very close for the first month and a half because they are very vulnerable to predators during this time. Ducklings also don't radiate enough body heat on their own to survive, and need to be close to moms down feathers for warmth. you can say its a cute video but if you do a minutes worth of research you will see that Duckling was running for its life....

i AGREE IMPRINTING !! i see Ducklings with their moms and they stay very close instinctively to the mother because they dont have the body heat yet to stay warm enough on their own for a few weeks. ducklings are so cute but not when they are running to keep up with their new mom who is running away !

Wow, what a terrible guy. All you people saying this is awwww so cute or horrible people. That duck is imprinting, and it thinks that guy is it's mom. it's running because it's afraid, not to be dahhhhhh cute for humans. And save the "enjoy the beauty in life!" speech. There is no beauty in making a poor duckling who is imprinting scared out of it's mind that "mommy" is running away. What is wrong with you people?

Ducklings imprint on the first moving object they see after hatching. So do pheasants and some other fowl. This duckling thinks the jogger is "mom".

We always got baby ducks at Easter and they always did this. They follow you everywhere and are so cute! When ours got older we'd take them to the park to live where there was a huge lake and a flock of ducks year round. They loved it! And no this is not cruel because the little duck loves his human and also loves jogging. Why look how healthy he is and how strong his legs are. With strong legs he'll be able to propel himself through the water like a real torpedo someday. Great video!
