Abandoned Kitten Stops Freeway Traffic in Arizona
the daily dish
One kitten is so cute, it can literally stop high-speed traffic. According to the New York Post, a small kitten found its way onto a freeway in Arizona.
Luckily, plenty of animal lovers were on the road that day. Drivers stopped their cars, bringing traffic to a halt, to help out the baby cat and take video of the odd event. When the Department of Public Safety came by to secure the feline, it gave the workers quite a runaround, but they were eventually able to secure the kitten from under a car.

A local Arizona traffic reporter, Dan Beach, told KSAZ-TV that he has seen an increase of critters clogging up traffic, including cats, dogs, cows, donkeys and more. Beach believes these rise in animals on the road is due to cash-strapped owners abandoning their animals in the desert.
Fortunately, this story has a happy ending. The kitten was safely retrieved without injury and no fender benders resulted from the fuzzy mishap.

My family had a cat that got in there with a load of clothes and got killed. You wouldn't allow your children to play in there, please don't allow your pets!

It's because they would rather stop traffic to retrieve the animal than have someone swerve to miss it and end up causing a major traffic accident....in case anyone was wondering.
