Ghana Farm Dog Saves Abandoned Newborn

This story takes hero dogs to a whole new level. According to the (U.K.) Daily Mail, a farm dog in Ghana discovered a newborn baby abandoned under a bridge and stayed with the child all night.
A search party found the baby and the canine snuggled together the next day. The 2-week-old infant girl was rushed to doctors, where she was given a clean bill of health aside from a small and treatable infection.

The search party that discovered the pair was looking for the dog after it disappeared from a local farm; they had no idea the animal would be found with a human infant. But now both the baby and the noble dog are safe.
Officials are unsure why the child was abandoned or why the location under the bridge was chosen. Some health workers believe the baby may have been left behind by an overwhelmed and scared teenage couple. While authorities work at unfolding the mystery behind the abandoned child, they are also dedicated to finding the baby a home.

Meanwhile, the dog is now being heralded as a hero in its community. The canine's altruistic act holds special importance because there is a local legend about a great ancestor being rescued as an infant by a kind dog.
One thing is for certain: there is now a new legendary dog in town.

If adoption were not looked at so critically and hailed as the most loving act any Mother could ever do for their child then I would bet that incidents like this would be far and few between. Adoption can be done in most states without a parent of the pregnant person even knowing. That eliminates the need to leave a baby somewhere because they do not want anyone to know. Which goes for any age pregnant person. No matter what your opinion is. Adoption is a wonderful solution instead of a funeral. P.S. The dog is a hero. Sorry he did not get better coverage.

Why didn't they get a picture of the dog? Really... Is that the most important aspect of this article? An abandoned baby was found ALIVE and people are saying treat your dogs better. Pure foolishness. The baby is blessed. Educate yourselves. You never know when someone in your own family will be forced to abandon their precious ones without alerting others.

It still had after birth on it not to mention that it couldn't possibly be alive after that length of time with no food or water.. Am I the only one that sees it that way???
