Bizarre-Looking Chinese Crested Dog Confused for Pig
the daily dish
When a pink and plump Chinese Crested dog with odd brown spots and a shock of white hair was seen wandering XinXiang, China, many citizens mistook the bizarre-looking dog for some sort of mutant pig, according to the (U.K.) Daily Mail.
With several research centers and a medical school nearby, passersby who spotted the peculiar dog were concerned it was an escapee from some dangerous lab experiment. One bystander even described the animal as an obvious "genetic experiment" on a pig that had been botched.

Residents realized they could stop cowering in fear when police arrived and reported that the supposed mutant was actually a rare breed of canine, the Chinese Crested. Authorities said that the breed is not typical for the area and is usually rather expensive.

Not surprisingly, Chinese Cresteds often compete in the annual World's Ugliest Dog Competition at the Sonoma Marin Fair in California. Last year's winner, Yoda, was a Chinese Crested, as were many previous winners of the contest. Perhaps the "mutant pig" will one day find appreciation and stardom in the U.S.

headlineentertainer, no I'm afraid you take the prize for ugliness on this page with your stupid, hateful, and, I presume, racist comment. aremember, the Republican Party is the nexus of evil and the enemy of freedom-loving people everywhere. What sickness compels you to make vile remarks about Michelle Obama on a page devoted to cute animal pictures? Michelle Obama is 100 times the human being you will ever be, you piece of excrement.

But they have the sweetest personalities and vary in how much hair they have. When they have a lot of hair on their head, legs and tails, they look like beautiful ponies! And half of them actually are called powder puffs and have as much if not more hair than the average dog.
That poor dog looks like it was to in a chemical plant that burned it's hair off-it's a sad looking dog!

June 09 2012 at 12:50 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIt is another form of abuse. It is like The Island of Dr. Moreau. These breeders are mean and twisted in their thinking. They should be banned from breeding animals. People go nuts over the genetic engineering of food. They will not say anything about creating designer animals.
June 09 2012 at 1:00 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI always felt so sorry for the cats that were bred to have extra short legs.
We have 3 Cresteds but ours are "powder puffs" (with hair) and they are definitely playful/loving dogs. Smart as well. Also we have 1 miniature toy poodle who loves these dogs and is as playful. Never a dull moment here! ( you should see them chasing the cat - looks like the "Keystone Cops")
