Texas Couple Shares Home with Two Giant Buffaloes
the daily dish
Wonder where the buffalo roams these days? Look no further than Texas. According to the U.K. Daily Mail, R.C. and Sherron Bridges share their home with two buffaloes named Bullet and Wildthing.
Wildthing weighs 2,400 pounds and Bullet weighs 900 pounds, but each could reach 2,500 pounds. Regardless of their size, the animals' owners are comfortable with their unusual pets, allowing them to hoof around their home. R.C. Bridges has been training cowboys and horses for years, and grew up around these gentle giants. He is so close to the creatures that he had Wildthing as his best man when he and Sherron renewed their wedding vows.

Raising buffalo came accidentally to R.C. After losing an eye, he had to sell his herd, but decided to keep his favorite: Wildthing. From that point on, Bridges began training the animal and now the pair are inseparable, following each other around the house. Bullet was adopted into the family just a few years ago and still is working on potty training, but is said to be adjusting happily to domestic life otherwise (although Bridges admits cleaning up a buffalo's droppings is more difficult to deal with than a dog's).

Bridges says he understands that buffaloes can be dangerous animals, with horns and strength that could easily kill a man. But to the retired cowboy trainer, his animals are not threats, they are family.
