CUB GLAMOUR SHOTS 

Recently, state wildlife officials fielded a call from a family that had taken a young bear cub from the wild and brought it into their home. With no idea how to care for the helpless yet wild animal, they turned to professionals. A zookeeper is now tending to the cub at the Oregon Zoo.

PUP PREDICTIONS 

A Dachshund named Sissi stands in front of a bowl of food next to a goal with the logo of German soccer team Bayern Munich. Sissi opted for Bayern Munich's bowl, predicting they'll win against Chelsea in Saturday's Champions League final. 

KINGLY KISSES

Firefighters and state lifeguards prepare to assist a horse swimming offshore near Carpinteria, Calif. The Arabian horse named William got spooked during a California beachside photo shoot Tuesday and swam a mile out to sea before rescuers got to him and helped him back to shore.

ELK ON THE LOOSE

A giant elk runs through a park alley in Minsk, Belarus. It was one of two elks that were found roaming through the city's central park. They were later taken to the city zoo. 

SEALED WITH A SMILE 

A recently rescued grey seal pup smiles at the camera at the West Hatch RSPCA Wildlife Centre in the U.K. 

PUP PIPSQUEAK 

Eight little Mexican wolf pups were born at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, N.Y. The pack of pups could aid the federal program that has reintroduced the endangered species to the wild.

HAWKEYE

A Harris hawk, Tara, one of eight other hawks used to scare pigeons, keeps watch at the Roland-Garros tennis stadium in Paris, France six days before the start of the French Open.

WILD KITTENS 

Tufted-ear caracal kittens Aziza, Binti and Mkuze sit in their enclosure at the Oregon Zoo in Portland. The zoo named their mama Peggy its 2012 Mother of the Year. 

JUMP FOR JOY 

A female tapir cub named Parima jumps through her compound at the Hagenbeck Zoo in Germany. She was born only a few weeks ago and has already figured out how to use her legs.

HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH 

Disney World's Animal Kingdom Park just welcomed a beautiful baby boy white rhino into its happy family. He's the fourth calf born to Kendi, a 13-year-old white rhino.

HUNGRY LITTLE CUBS 

Three white tiger cubs are nursed from bottles by a zoo worker at Ukraine's biggest zoo in Yalta. How precious.

MONKEY SEE 

Malou the baby Sumatra orangutan hangs from her mom's arms as she gazes into the camera at the Zurich Zoo.

BENGAL BEAUTY 

A beautiful Bengal tiger wades in a pool inside its enclosure at the Nehru Zoo Park in India. What a majestic-looking creature!

A mother porcupine looks after her newborn three days after its birth. Baby porcupines are born with fur and quills, which dry within hours. We wonder if that birth is as painful as it sounds.

SWEET BABY HARBOR SEAL

The Aquarium of the Pacific's adult harbor seal named Shelby gave birth to her first baby at the ripe age of 16. She celebrated her first Mother's Day with her new female pup.
