Blind Dog Finds New Life with Lab Friend
the daily dish
The amazing power of friendship also extends to the animal kingdom. According to ABC News, Tanner the blind Golden Retriever and Blair the Black Labrador mix have both turned a corner in their lives thanks to the friendship they have forged.
The dogs' respective stories led them to the same place: Oklahoma's Woodland Animal Hospital. Before their leashes crossed, both dogs were having difficult times. Tanner, blind since birth, had lost his devoted owner and was having trouble getting adopted due to a seizure disorder that caused him to lose control of his bodily functions. Meanwhile, Blair had just been taken off the streets. Someone had previously shot the dog and she was having a hard time finding a family due to her skittishness. After a chance encounter in a play area, the two pups became inseparable, with Blair guiding Tanner everywhere. The pair's friendship has made their problems a thing of the past, and now, hopefully, the dogs will find a new home together.

May 01 2012 at 10:03 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis is one of the most touching stories of just how intelligent, faithful and sensitive the canine species is! It's too bad the human species didn't accept individuals are they are but instead will bully those "challenged!
