As you may have heard, this weekend was PawNation's Pet Rally. Plenty of dogs, loads of animal lovers--and Randall!--all came out to Tompkins Square Park in New York City celebrate PawNation's relaunch. We wish that all our fans on four paws could've made it, but for those who couldn't, we want to share some photos and highlights of the day. Click through and put yourself in the middle of all the furry action from the Pet Rally and Bayer K9 Advantix II Pet Pageant. You can find even more adorable details in the New York Post coverage of the event.
-
FOLLOW THE BLUE AND WHITE ROAD
Looking for the Pet Rally? We've got you covered. Just follow the bright blue flags along the gray brick road get to the wag-worthy event.
-
CHIC CHIHUAHUA
Plenty of pets came wearing their own designer duds. A personal favorite was this true rocket dog, who was blasting around the Pet Rally for most of the day.
-
CANINE CLOSE-UP
Upon arrival, guests immediately discovered a free photo shoot with costumes provided by Pet Couture. Here, Keiko the dog and his owner Stephanie Mattera get their glamour shot taken. The dogs loved the chance to try on some true canine couture and pose for the camera.
-
CUTEST CHAMP EVER
Adorable K9 Advantix II pet mascot, Champ, was there to judge the pet pageant and give paws-on advice about treating fleas and ticks. And she was pretty cute too!
-
CELEBS ON THE SCENE
Everyone was eager to get photos and hugs from our special guests, Randall and Champ. Both proved to be rather cuddly, so there was enough love to go around.
-
PET PRESENTS
One of the best parts about our Pet Rally? Freebies! Handouts included Top Dog t-shirts, Ultralast kitty-litter scoops, PawNation leashes, Bocce dog biscuits and more. Meanwhile, humans could try tasty treats from the Eddie's Pizza or Gorilla Cheese food trucks.
-
PAINT THE TOWN PINK
Pets could add a little flair to their fur by getting a professional paw-dicure from the Salty Paw. Pink seemed to be the big favorite among the fashion-forward Fidos who enjoyed the pampering.
-
PUT YOUR PAWS UP
In case pooches found that they were partying too hard, a luxurious lounge awaited them. The hot spot included refreshing water bowls and relaxing beds.
-
FEELING HOT HOT HOT
The sun decided to smile upon the Pet Rally, offering up perfect weather for the event. This also meant that shady spots were highly coveted when it came time for a quick nap.
-
MEGA MASCOTS
Cairo and Chopper were filming in Los Angeles, but the Hollywood grind didn't stop the mascots from appearing in spirit. Plus, each mascot had a tasty special at the food trucks: Cairo gave her approval for a special grilled-cheese sandwich, while Chopper went with a meat lover's pizza.
-
A HAPPY HOME
North Shore Animal League brought their cutest bunch of cats and dogs for adoption to the Pet Rally. This black-and-white kitten was just one of many charmers waiting to find the purrfect home. Five pets were brought home that day and more than 20 others have prospective parents still hoping to adopt.
-
ADOPT A HERO
One of the adorable animals from the North Shore Animal League was this suave Bulldog. Gino has a very special story. Rescued from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Gino became a hero dog when he saved his new family from a house fire by waking them and alerting them to the blaze. Sadly, when the family lost their home, they had to give up Gino. Contact NSAL for more info.

-
DIVA DOGS
New York City's most fashionable pups made appearances throughout the day, though most tried to stay incognito so they could hobnob with the other pets without attracting too much attention.
-
PARIS HILTON PUP
With this fashionable ensemble, Chai Latte was seeing the Pet Rally through rose-colored glasses.
-
DON'T FORGET THE PARENTS
Owners also prepared for the Pet Rally, donning their best animal-related duds and happy faces. We couldn't do it without you guys!
-
LIKE OWNER, LIKE DOG
Pets and owners put on their best game faces for the Owner Look-Alike Contest. Every pair shared some surprising resemblances, but the prize went to Poodle mix Whiskey and his owner who rocked the same highlighted brunette locks.
-
CATNIP ON THE CARPET
Thanks to Randall, rumors circulated that someone might have sprinkled some "nip" on the red carpet. The pets couldn't get enough of it! We think the animals were just really enjoying their moments in the spotlight.
-
LET'S SEE THOSE CANINE TEETH
With pets getting the Hollywood treatment throughout the day, it's no surprise that the guests were all smiles.
-
PAW FIVE
The Pet Pageant challenged dogs to bring their "A" games on several fronts, splitting the competition into four rounds. First up was the talent round: tiny toy Poodle Aesop earned "awws" and applause with the adorable high-fives he showed off.
-
JUMPING PUPS
Calypso wowed the crowd by easily hopping through her owner-made hoop during the pageant's talent portion.
-
CANINE CAROUSEL
This dog had everyone dizzy and amazed when she demonstrated her twirling trick.
-
POSING POMERANIAN
Sauce, the crowd-favorite Pomeranian--aka Tron Dog--entered the Pet Pageant and made it through several rounds with no problem. His claim to fame? Male modeling.
-
DAMSEL DOG
Next up was the "Best Dressed" round. ZZ showed the judges that she had a flare for the dramatic by donning this glamorous gown.
-
PAWFECT IN PLAID
This adorably dressed Pug competed in the "Best Dressed" portion of the Pet Pageant too.
-
FIRECE ON FOUR PAWS
Pint-sized Chai Latte showed that she had big style in the "Best Dressed" round.
-
CAT ABOUT TOWN
This wasn't only a dog day. A Maine Coon named Q came roaring through the Pet Rally in his leather biker jacket. The cool cat was accompanied by his equally chic roommate, Sigmund Freud.
-
AESOP'S GOT GAME
Pets also had to strut their stuff in the runway round. A little hesitant at first, Aesop quickly warmed up to the red carpet during the competition.
-
ONE WITH THE CARPET
Contestant Calypso rocked the pageant's runway round, amazing the judges with her easy-going and confident gait.
-
NO KISS FOR YOU
The final round of the Pet Pageant asked contestants to pucker up and give MC Randall some licks. Unfortunately, Chai Latte was not in a kissing mood, so Randall got no love.
-
SLOPPY SECONDS
ZZ, the second dog to meet Randall's lips, was only slightly more receptive. It was more of a one-sided kiss, but the pair did share a slobbery moment on stage.
-
THE RIGHT STUFF
Calypso ditched the wig for the kissing round and offered Randall some perfect poochie smoochies.
-
AND THE WINNER IS...
The judges--Aida Neives, Karen Dante, Saryn Chorney and, of course, Randall--chose Calypso as the Pet Pageant winner. Lauded for her hopping hoop trick, her poise on the runway and stellar kissing skills, Calypso went home with the title of Top Dog, a tiara and a basket full of pawsome goodies.
-
RANDALL'S ANGELS
The perfect way to wrap up an amazing day? The PawNation editors gleefully posed with their animal idol, honey-badger benefactor and special correspondent Randall. Make sure to look for his video from the Pet Rally on PawNation soon.
