LION CUB LOOKOUT

He may be small, but this little guy is fierce. The tiny lion cub proudly protects his mama from any intruders on the premises.

BOUNCY BABY GOAT

A baby goat bounces excitedly towards its mother at Zoo Basel in Switzerland. Spring's arrival means playtime!

MONKEY INSPECTION 

A black-capped squirrel monkey scans the crowd of visitors from inside of his enclosure at the London Zoo. We think he likes what he sees. 

PENGUIN POOL PARTY 

A group of hungry Humboldt penguins gather together for lunch at the London Zoo. 

GIRAFFE GAZE 

A 3-day-old giraffe gazes into the camera as it stands below its towering mother. Tatu, a Rothschild giraffe, gave birth at the Zoo Aquarium of Madrid.

SHY GUY

Bino, a 1-year-old Sumatran orangutan, peeps from behind his mother at the Singapore Zoo. 

PRAIRIE DOG PEEK-A-BOO

Fort Wayne Children's Zoo in Indiana welcomed back this precious prairie dog that decided to pop its head out and say hello to its fans.

MONGOOSE MAZE

A bright-eyed mongoose peeks out of a tube at a zoo in Hanover, Germany. The zoo provides its animals with several fun and thematic areas including Farmer's Village, the Australian Outback and the Canadian Landscape. 

OBSESSED OTTER 

An adorable otter swims around on his back so he can play with his favorite orange ball.  

PIGLET PLAYTIME 

San Diego Zoo Safari Park just got a whole lot cuter. The zoo recently welcomed a pack of adorable red river hog piglets who are now on display at their exhibit.

FLAMINGO FACE-OFF 

Two American flamingos stand neck-to-neck at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Garden. Rumor has it they were battling it out for the "Tallest Flamingo in L.A." title. 

PRECIOUS CANINE CARGO

Hannah, a Golden Retriever, rides safely and comfortably in the back of her Chevy Equinox during a Pet Day event at the New York International Auto Show. 

SLOTH SWING

A two-toed sloth swings upside down from a branch in his enclosure at the London Zoo. 

SHEEP SWEETHEART 

An Afghan girl holds her sheep tightly to her chest as they take a walk through town. 

LEMUR-LING ON THE LOOSE 

A 10-day-old lemur grabs hold of a zookeeper's hand at the Sacramento Zoo. Whether it's a boy or girl is still a mystery. It takes six to eight months to be able to tell the gender of a lemur.

CURIOUS CHICKS

Two crested screamers look around their new habitat at the Nashville Zoo. We wonder what they'll do when they discover the tapir standing right behind them.

HIPPO HUGS 

Two hippos bid each other hello as they cross paths in the water at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Fla.

POOL PLAYTIME

Malosi the Sumatran tiger splashes around in the water chasing after a giant yellow ball. Malosi is now on exhibit at Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma, Wash.

KOALA CUDDLES

A precious baby koala (also known as a joey) clutches to its mama's back and peeks out from a temporary exhibit at the San Diego Zoo in San Diego, Calif. The zoo is currently finishing their upcoming koala exhibit.

LIZARD LOVES EASTER EGGS 

An Asian water monitor goes on an Easter-egg hunt at SeaWorld in San Diego, Calif. Although water monitors typically feeds on birds, fish and other small animals, this large lizard gobbled up several of the eggs on the grassy area.

GOOGLY FOR GIBBONS

A zookeeper holds Knuppy, a 3-month-old white-handed gibbon, close to her chest at the Bremen Zoo in Germany. Gibbons are small and slender apes native to Southeast Asia.

THE EASTER BOO-NY

Just when you thought the world's cutest dog couldn't get any more adorable, he just had to go and put on a pair of pink bunny ears. Boo posted this photo of himself yesterday on his Facebook page with a caption that read, "Happy Bunny Day, all!" 

PRETTY PEACOCK 

A peacock displays his gorgeous feathers at a park in Lebanon. He must be on the market for a mate!

BABY BELUGA 

Georgia Aquarium is expecting a new family member soon. Maris the belgua whale is due to give birth by June. She will be the first mammal to conceive at the aquarium since 2005.

PRECIOUS PRIMATE 

Jacksonville Zoo welcomed the birth of their newest baby mandrill monkey born this week to 16-year-old Deanna and 17-year-old Douglas.
