The use of shark fins in food has come under fire over the past few years due to the cruel hunting practices fishermen use to obtain the fins. Now it appears that not only are sharks at risk, but those who eat the fins as well. Researchers have discovered that many shark fins naturally contain a neurotoxin that is linked to Alzheimer's and Lou Gehrig's disease in humans. It is feared that ingesting shark fins can put consumers at risk for developing the diseases. (Live Science)
